Zoro here was built to be a Tank character, but when the occasion calls, he can and will annihilate his enemies.

Share a story where your group's meat shield went above and beyond, and destroyed something impressive.

Never really got why tanks are only meant to just take damage. Do it right, and they could cause some major harm

Well with the normal lack of Aggro mechanics you really need to be able to be a combat threat to make you worth attacking, If you're a Dwarven Defender with insane HP insane AC, insane DR and no combat ability? the enemy just walks around you and kills your squishies.

That's why you use dire flails and things that add to your Reach- trip attacks, reach-based Aoos, all that good stuff.

"Tank to Destroyer"

Old edition combined with things we liked from newer edition, not super balanced but tweaked by a great DM as things went. Our meatshield was a fighter, wore good armor, had a big hammer, would beat on things and shout threateningly to get plebs paying attention to them. The one time they decided to roll stealth, they snuck up on an arc boss, successfully grappled said boss, and proceeded to beat him to death against his table. The bard started songs about the fighter ninja and we immediately developed plans to ham it up even worse so our fighter could tank the attention of others as well... After all, IT'S THE FIGHTER NINJA, HE COMMANDS MAGES AND CAN KILL YOU WITH HIS BARE HANDS!

"Pathfinder Mythic Dwarven Pinball of DOOM"

Once I was in a game where we had a Dwarf Stonelord (plai variant) who was able to, through mechanics and slight min-maxing, hit AC 47 base when he popped his abilities. Granted he was unable to move, but the point was he was a WALL.

He had picked up some some feats at some point that contradicted this (cleave and its line) by the time we were around 14th level (we were also Mythic, i think around Mythic four or so).

He proceeded to pin ball his way down a line of Demons around 50 or so long. On HIS turn, he came back. His setup allowed him ot DOWN all 100 or so of the minor demons (not at once, but close enough) and wreck the GM's plan of us running away from a lopsided fight.

That was a fun game...

Pathfinder's mythic rules are notorious for turning the game into pure rocket tag, so when I played in a mythic game I had one goal: make an unkillable tank.

So, I created Keagan, the Sorcerer 10/Paladin 2/Dragon Disciple 7/Oracle 1. He added his charisma to AC (twice when smiting), Initiative, Saves, and Attack. He ran so many defensive spells at once that I had to use index cards to track them, and had a mythic abilities that let him reduce his damage taken and reroll saves. When things actually got bad, he would use Emergency Force Shield an immediate action to create a wall of force to block whatever he thought was about to harm him.

He was one of the only characters in the campaign who didn't die repeatedly. His saves were so high that when he ran into a door which cast Wail of the Banshee every time it was struck, he said "That's nice" and proceeded to full attack it. He wasn't weak in melee combat either. In fact, thanks to a mythic power that let him use his Caster Level as his BAB while polymorphed, he was practically a Full BAB Full Caster.

One fight that comes to mind is one where we fought a Mythic Ravener with auras that effectively disabled everyone in the party except for Keagan (thanks to his saves). So, he then proceeded to shapeshift into his Silver Dragon form and tear the boss apart all by himself. It was beautiful.

Just remember: if the tank is the only one who can survive what the GM throws at you, then he is effectively the best damage dealer in the party!
