So let me get this straight - Sanji and Kuroobi both have Martial Adept classes based off of Swordsage, probably flaws out the rear in order to give them tons more feats... and NEITHER of them took Adaptive Style? That doesn't sound like good character design.

Yeah, and it makes more sense that Sanji was swapping out his usual AoE maneuvers for a set that's more suited to one-on-one fighting.

I didn't know you could meditate with a lollipop.

Lollipop... right.
And now I have an idea for "Masterwork Concentration tool"

To be honest, there were a few things about the 4Kids version that I preferred.

One was the voices- yes, yes, they're terrible stereotypes and stuff, but dangit, they made the characters stand out from the crowd!

Second was that lollipop. Sanji practically worships food, so WHY WOULD HE SMOKE?

I mean, smoking dulls the sense of taste, the flavour of the ciggarete and tobacco gets into everything (it can even transfer via clothing scent), screws up your sense of smell... He got angry when that noodle lady was using Knives for Combat!

Not to mention, his particular backstory means that it makes LOADS more sense that he satisfy his oral fixation with food than with not-food.

I worked in a restaurant kitchen for half a year and everyone except for me smoked during the breaks. The cooks, the waiters and waitresses, the dishwashers and it wasn't even a cheap restaurant but rather classy. Yes, it dulls the sense of taste (and Sanji knows this, Zeff told him in a flashback) but maybe he smokes because it is common amongs cooks.

PS: The noodle lady was a man (if you mean Wanze of CP7)

It's an appetite suppressor. People who have gone through situations like Sanjis tend to have issues with food, so maybe smoking helps with that. Plus it's relaxing, and goodness knows Sanji is high-strung enough as it is.

We also don't know what kind of leaves he uses in his cigs for the game system. Those could be medicinal concentration enhancers. Or leaves soaked in healing potion, to send the effect into his body via the lungs.

"There are worse things he could be smoking (and obviously there are better things too)"

There aren't many medicinals that would survive the burning and smoking process, but because magic plays by it's own rules that might work
Now that I think about it, as a potion of cure light is a magic item, it could make a saving throw to survive the flame, given that it'd be considered an attended item for being in the cook's hand/mouth it'd use his saving throw if it was better (and of course it would be)

Pricing would be based off the item "curative steaks" which is just steak soaked in cure potions.
They cost just as much as standard potions and the descriptions mention herbavorious versions exist (downside of cureitive steaks is that they have a limited shelf life, though I can't remember how long it is off the top of my head)

So 95% of the time these guys totally could smoke an herbal cure potion so long as it was made recently

In somewhat related news a friend of mine once played a lvl 5 rouge assasian character who was a smoker, and was fairly frequently told that he shouldn't do that because it was bad for the health.
When this happened the character would deliberately puff a large ball of smoke in the person's face and then walk off saying some variation on "I know when I'm not wanted" and then be out of sight in under a miniute generally speaking and utilizing a hat of disguise either way.

Thing is, he was smoking sassone leaves.

For those unaware the residue from sassone leaves is a fairly potent poison. 2d12 HP 1 con per miniute that takes a miniute to kick in.

He got away with it by selecting a rouge tallent that let him be immune to a specific poison, which is something normally sub par because normally you aren't aware of exactly what poison you'll be exposed to unless you're using it yourself and roll a 1 on to hit without having the poison use class feature.
But with him it gave him an inconspicuous way for a rouge to deal double great sword damage without people knowing it and then getting off scot free frequently and the sort of people who could handle that amount of damage are a bit outside of his comfort zone for soloing anyway so that works out fine too.
