This is a great example for why anime makes a perfect setting for turn-based combat. The amount of time a character can spend on preparing an attack without interference from the opponent is totally justified in the context of the dramatic narrative. Just add some speed lines. |

This, and a lot of other tropes, like how they still seem to fight at their fullest, or ever harder, when they're wounded and covered with blood. My role-playing abilities actually went up when I started making my characters act like they were in a movie or anime/manga. |

There's an archetype for halfling monks in pathfinder. Eventually, you trip as if you were Colossal. |
