"An attempted boss fight"

So in my Campaign at my college I made liquimetal Golem thing (that was a lot weaker than an actual golem but it doesn't matter) and it was supposed to be this really awesome fight with a whole bunch of tricks and everything... But I couldn't roll above a 10 for most of it.

Hm, well... Oh! There was a time I was running an Exalted game using the Third Edition rules. I wanted to throw something BIG at my players.

One of the books I had featured a Wyld-born Behemoth, a creature of chaotic aurora-fire and volcanic glass.

That thing actually managed to stand up to the PC's onslaught, until one of the players got the idea to check for weak spots. And found a weakness I cooked in for if they decided to try and pick out weaknesses.

One of the PCs managed to crack the armor, and it went downhill for the thing from there.

""Epic" boss fight"

Both the campaigns with my first Gm had intense but odd boss fights-

The first was a witch kidnapping children from a town- there were a lot of scarecrows in the area, I was personally afraid that it would turn out she was turing them into the scarecrows... I don't remember if we ever found out why she was taking the kids. Anyway, I was off taking care of a party member that was getting drunk, the rest ran off to fight the witch, along with this one girl we were escorting for plot reasons. They confront her in her cottage and after some posturing she points outside, where a horde of scarecrows have gathered and most of the party huddles jsut outside the houst to fight, while the witch caught the girl and another party member-

The scarecrows were fragile, but there wer a lot of them, and it turned out that they could cast spells. At this point I had draged the drunk party member out, repeatedly dunked them in a trough of water and used roleplaying a conversation with the townsfolk to drive home the fact that the party left the one person with fire attacks behind (I played a dragonfire adept), when we had all noticed the huge number of scarecrows and even the townsfolke pointed out their increasing number- THEY LEFT THE GUY WHO BREATHES FIRE BEHIND TO GO FIGHT A HORDE OF BAGS OF STRAW!

I then ran after them, and after i arrive did some good area damage before the scarecrows started buffing each other with resist fire.

Inside the house the which used some sort of draining touch to sap all the magic out of collar the girl we were escorting was wearing (she was a special slave when we found her) and then did the same to the party member, crippling their powers temporarily- it also affected a magic horn the person had (from our first mission the one with the skull I have mentioned before) which immedieately started growing and burst out of her pack.

At this point we weren't doing so hot outside, we were cutting them down but a number of us were just barely above negative health- then suddenly a wall of the house bursts open and a troll roars out, as the scarecrows all fall down inanimate, we barely get a hit or two on it before that girl comes tearing out of the house herself, ON FIRE and grabs the troll and burns it to ashes...

she Refused to Explain anything for the rest of the campain and we never found out what was up with that

That one song always plays in my head anytime I see a bit of this scene.

You know the one.

so I was running a pathfinder game and I had built this custom boss that I was testing out. Well it was supposed to warp into the middle of the party attack and then move to a distance. I warped in made the first attack and then rolled a nat 1. After the attack of ops were done it became a very short fight.

"First game, second boss"

(3D&T) So this guy was the second boss from the first game I played. We had just changed the rules from 3D&T to Advanced and the GM wasn't sure how powerful he had to make the enemies. The boss won the initiative and just said "ladies first" and skipped his turn.

He almost didn't get a second turn.

Any reason why you included the OVA but skipped the first movie?

I had this idea in my head about putting together a fully voice-acted video of the first movie, abridged-style, but... I guess I never really got around to doing that. I ended up making an AMV on Youtube for April Fools instead, but it got taken down due to Copyright issues. >_>

Hmm... maybe I should make it a milestone goal... ~_^

To spare you all the world history of my custom low-magic setting, imagine one where magic is but the fevered dream of a madman.

Also it was 5th edition d&d.

Anyway, there was a invasion of honorless, hate-filled Northners on the main campaign setting, and the party strike out to take out key commanders and assets, one being a Tower that popped out of nowhere overnight...

Story stuff, and the reason and purpose of a several thousand year old half-dragon warlord aside (remember, this is LOW magic, so THAT guy caught them off guard), he teleports away and leaves them to fight the best now I've ever DM'd... A absolutely massive Copper Golem he was creating for the North.

It was unfinished, so it's legs didn't work, but it's arms were long enough to hit everyone in the entire room, as well if two people were not in Merle range, it'd fill the entire tower with bolts fm electrical damage...

There were these four giant electrical crystals feeding the thing power, slowly "finishing" it, sort of a timer... Destroying them slowed this down, and reduced how many lightning bolts it could shoot... When it was almost dead tho, and the last crystal shattered, one of the PCs dropped a Macguffin they found earlier(The Orb of Fantasy, which is what allows the PCs their low level access to magic...which is amazingly powerful, in this setting),and the golem drew power from THAT, and was at 200% power instantly.

Then the PCs a pirate Barbarian double-crit with a 100% Unbakable walking stick(he figured it wouldn't conduct electricity) and launched it into the tower wall, shattering both the golem, and murderfricking the wall out of existence!

They looted ALL THE COPPER. I think they wanna make a fort out of it?

But yeah, the Unbreakable walking stick became their parties Symbol after that... The pirate voted the group should be named "The Orde of the Shaft" in its honor.
