He drank something a woman gave him in one of DM's games. When he woke up, the girl's father had him tied up, and was dragging him to the courthouse to marry the two of them.

Yeah, I wouldn't put it past DM to have a character get drugged, raped, and forced into a shotgun wedding in order to retire the character.

(Have been warned about a DM actually doing this. I chose to decline that DM's invitation to join their group. I do not like DMs that pull cruel tricks like that.)

I actually don't like DMs like that. I avoid groups run by assholes like that, simply because I game to relax and have fun.

I don't have fun when the DM constantly screws me over purely because he doesn't feel like telling me what he wants.

That really doesn't work with a DM who will, by all accounts, kill your character off for even a perceived microqggression.

Iron fist DMs who don't care about maintaining canon if it means getting their way really can't be dealt with that way.

Do not be afraid, however, I did do a little meddling. I won't admit to anything specific, but I gave a little help. That's how I learned what a bad DM the guy was.

And this is why I expect another baddie or 2 to actually be characters made by DM to join the party full time before she gets Robin after being kicked from the group. And Robin is controlled via texts Dm sends to Gm but Cory is smart enough to figure it out.

Also I suspect Gm will eventually give Sanji to another play but I could be wrong on that

That doesn't sound to me like a way to retire a character.
It sounds like a jailbreak sidequest.

That sounds like grounds to refuse to pay for pizza, or disallow said DM from eating any of the food I brought.

Also, apparently the DM thought this was a good ending for the character.

I wouldn't put it past DM to use tea to apply a binary toxin or set off a drug interaction.
