I've actually trapped multiple tree stumps as a DM, and even a couple as a player. (I like to hide my stuff in them.) Sadly, they never get triggered, or even disarmed - I need to find a campaign that lasts more than a few sessions.

Ah, yes, searching for traps. One of the things that the darned rouge is actually good for.
Now if we could just get them to stop taking our stuff...

He could trap the door to make sure no one other than him get into his room.
