Man, you really want me to hate EVIL!Christopher Walken here, don't you? I hated the davy back games arc, except for the big fight. You know the one. Then again, they're just gonna duel, and I remember how awesome this fight was. Can't wait to see Luke's face when he actually takes damage!


Story time is about gambling, and more specifically, betting people and mission critical goods.

Clever idea to start the new webcomic on the anniversary of the "old" one.

Interesting twist to make it a Davy Back fight. That was a really grating arc in the anime because it was really stupid even by Luffy standards because everyone freaks out when he loses a team mate (like in the VERY NEXT ARC when they kinda lose Robin). But here Luke can be stupid and lose his crew and its not that big of a deal.

It was pretty grating in the Manga as well...

I know, right? That was the one arc I hated most of all.

I did love the big fight between Foxy and Luffy, though.

Over all, the whole thing reminded me too much of pokemon Orange League. You know, the really bad season where it was all about pokemon races or some crap like that.

In between the Skypeia arc and the Water 7 arc, more or less as light hearted filler between the two rather heavy toned story lines, by the author's own admission

I know the original poster will probably never read that, but...The situation when they lost Robin in the next arc was completely different. First she disapeared with no explanation, then they knew she was going to jail/be executed because of some shady governement buisness. And she was clearly in actual danger if they did'nt save her in time. Hence why everyone got serious.
Here they where going against...Foxy. they did'nt even envisage that they could lose a single crewmate to theses guys and even if they did, it would have been far less dramatic and they would have every oportunity to win them back.

I just hope you didn't make Mihawk one of Krieg's crew. Krieg is not worthy of that honor.

I actually ratehr liked the Davy Back Fight arc. it was a fun little arc that played to One Piece's strengths (in my eyes).
