I use different treats for different types of enemies. If you really wanna screw with your players, cover the board in different types, but don't tell them that the sweet tarts with the greenish drops on them are 'poison gas on death' effect enemies. Let them learn that for themselves when they eat them and realize the green jelly on top is jalapeno jelly.
Well, I have been known to substitute cutouts of nude women in place of things like dragons.
What? Don't look at me like that! She had dragon tattoos, and the symbol of the dragon clan they were fighting was (poorly) photoshopped onto her belly. In plain sight. And everyone got mad when she turned out to be a dragon in disguise! a dragon can be easily slain, but Miss December can apparently cause a total party wipe.
Never read the book, but I can only assume that yes, she was very much like that.
And it was not a small tattoo, either. Both arms, across her chest, and around her neck, with the symbol displayed on her belly, should have been a dead giveaway.
Nope! Naked woman and the whole party walks right up.
Not gonna lie- I stole the idea for doing it from this comic, but I do it.
They're perfect. Small, easy to move, don't melt and make a mess and there's a lot of them.
I let the players eat what they kill. Necromonger rules biaaaatch!
I think that Enies Lobby is going to be real frustrating for the GM.
GM: "B-but... you can't fight all of them on your own! They are with more then thousand!"
Luke: "Oh, yes I can!" *dives into the group of marines*
And then he takes revenge with the CP9. Though I suspect that at least Rob Lucci is the DM's work....
Oh come on guys, the skittles are just for minions. Obviously tougher enemies would be using bigger and better treats for their minis. For example:
Buggy - starburst
Kuro - life saver
Krieg - tootsie roll
Hawkeye - a freaking cupcake!
Arlong - fun size butterfingers
Smoker - tiny bit of cotton candy, add more as needed when he uses his powers
Wapol - jawbreaker
Crocodile - a brownie
Akoji - pint of vanilla ice cream
Foxy - Kit-Kat
Moria - pudding cup
Enel - 6 pack of doughnuts
Lucci - a single gourmet truffle
Kuma - bear claw
Blackbeard - dark chocolate fudge
Whitebeard - a triple layer wedding cake

Ever notice how the players most capable of mass minion kills also tend to be the ones with the sugar addiction? I blame the skittles.

>Not using WH/WH40K figurines as enemies.
No but seriously? people actually use candy to signify enemies in rpgs?
I've never encountered that.
If we've had an encounter important enough and too big to keep track of we've just used dice.

The Skittles return!!!!!!!
I look forward to the day GM discovers that CostCo sells them in 2 pound bags.
...They do, right? It's been a while since I was in their candy isle.

Sam's Club also carries that size of bag, and most major discount chains have one pound bags.
Many have resealable varieties as well, for when you go through a lot of smaller encounters instead of/in addition to that one massive one. XD

Probably, though GM was good enough to trick her.
We should come up with a list of the strongest characters and try and figure out who made who.

"What the hell? What's with the glass shelf things?"
"This is the battlefield."
"We have to figure out a 3D map?"
"No, this is for stacking multiple enemies in a single area. By the way, each skittle represents ten marines now."
"But that's ten stacks high!"
"Yes it is."
"Oh dear lord, why do you have ten pounds of skittles!?"
