I love it. Getting Cory involved in the campaign world by giving him secret information and a chance to showcase his character's history and personality outside of combat (and, more importantly, with a good combat encounter woven into the whole thing) was a genius move on the part of whoever came up with it.
There's always "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor". But if we want something more piratical, there's always Alestorm. Their instrumental "No Quarter would work great. https://youtu.be/Us0zPjyd2Y4
Here's a prompt (maybe a bit too late)
Has anyone ever said something so far off script but so amazing you couldn't let it drop? Like, okay. That's definitely canon.
I was playing an 8 year old boy, and I was visited by some angel or higher power who agreed to answer one question for me. The DM was expecting something related to the obtaining of power and/or cookies, but got hit instead with "Where's my mom?"
And so he decided to make her queen of the country we were going to, and part of the campaign ended up focusing on my family.
Dang, that's awesome. The biggest "sure, let's go with that" that I've gotten was when I rolled a Nat 20 on a knowledge check, with the pre-roll claim "I read it in a book once!" That became a canonical, instant-success, nothing else necessary. Just claim you read it, and if you got anywhere between an 18-20, you auto-succeeded, without having to consider modifiers, even if the knowledge is something you're actively terrible at. Like, for example, hacking. No one knows how to hack? "Well, I read a book once!" (19) Boom, got past the first security lockout, but there's still a lot to do before the door opens.

He improvised a new aspect to his character background? With no one telling him? Rad! Lean in to the RP!
Man I'm looking forward to this fight.

Cory's been starting to lean into the RP lately. This encounter feels like his reward for good behavior.

GM has been planning this for months, went on a walkabout, found his spirit guide. It's all coming together.

Piano music never fit Zoro and never will. Kill Bill and samurai are good choices, but I suggest something more metal; sorry for not being specific.
