Jesus, was I the only one who didn't know about Locate City abuse? Just found out about it in the comments at Friendship is Dragons today... |

There are very few books my DMs outright ban. Tome of Battle is the #1 banned book on their list. |

Is it because they hate melee and don't want them to have nice things? "I attack once more" is enough for melee, right? Casters should have all the options... |

No offense, but your DM (at least at the time of your posting) did/does not have a good judge for power. The Tome Of Battle is absolutely necessary for any non-spellcaster to contribute meaningfully in a party where the casters make any effort to optimize. The content in the Player's Handbook alone is far more broken at face value than essentially anything in Tome of Battle. Druids' Wild Shape, half or more of the Wizard or Clerics' spells, and more... |

Nah man, melee is cool. It just needs some extra support in dnd due to the oddities of the game design. |

Synergy is most noticeable with skills, since they outright call the bonuses you get for have 5 ranks in certain skills "synergy". You can, however, find "synergy" elsewhere. There's one method, for instance, in which you can pull out a whole bunch of chickens from nowhere, then turn them into your zombie minions. There's also "Locate City Bomb". ^_^
