have we had a storytime about when players had the absurdity of what they were about to do pointed out and still went ahead? That does remove the time I suggested taking the doors and was told that if we did, they would be mimics but...

Well, my players decided to jump into the mouth of something much stronger than themselves once. I'll let you guess how that ended for them.

In a Starfinder game, my players decided to build and install a personnel cannon on their ship. It's a boarding weapon, basically, it fires a missile loaded with their Vesk soldier at an enemy ship. They've used it twice now and to spectacularly bad effect. Narrowly avoiding getting the missile blown up by point defense weaponry by missing the first time and the second time they got two nat ones. The first to target a specific part of the ship and the second to actually make the attack roll. He's been declared MIA as the player hasn't been able to game since then and nobody is sure where the missile actually ended up.

I had a player be payed in a magic item. Normal, except it was cursed.

The Player was told that it was cursed even.

He put it on.

If you don't put on cursed items, why even play the game? Cursed items are made to be used!

and cursed place to be visited.

Even the dice are cursed!

I agree, but you have to understand, I made this item to be complete and utter bullshit.

I won't say the "Beneficial" effect, but I'll tell you what the curse does.

It drains him of his base stats.

Repeatedly.

And with a Wisdom Save to prevent against a compulsion to prevent him from saying anything.

There was a time where i set the whole place on fire because i had fire manipulation abilities and i thought it would give me the advantage of terrain...Forgetting that i was fighting my greatgrandfather, who was the one from whom i inherited the powers to begin with, and had, of course, fire power much much stronger than mine.
That was more because i did'nt think this through before acting, though.

The time in the same campaign where i voluntered for a underwater fight knowing that fire was'nt going to help me, and still decided to do it after another player reminded me that it was stupid, on the other hand... No flaming kick is one thing, but water hampering my movements meant that even normal kicks where not going to be a easy (excpt if you're post-time skip Sanki, which is was not), Got my ass handed to me.

I like the "goddammit Luke" running gag.
