"I Approve"

Considering Roth'gar (who I know I've told stories about) once intimidated a wall trap to un-pin his leg, I approve wholeheartedly of intimidating a cursed sword.

I think he's intimidating the shopkeeper, to get the sword at a discount.

"Intimidating things you shouldn't be able to"

I once "saved" a fellow party member by intimidating their mostly dead remains.
That guy had just drunk some mystery liquid (despite the GM asking very, very sternly "Are you sure?") and failing his fortitude save. He instantly turned into fog and started to disperse.
Someone fetched an airtight container and tried to gather/catch the fog, but failed. As a last-ditch effort, I blurted "I yell at the fog to make it go in the container". Rolled a natural 20 on intimidate.

A friend of mine once played a character who was really intimidating, but did'nt realise it.
Woman who was tall, amazonian, Talked very loudly, and not dead-stupid, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer either. She also constantly swung her sword around, not sheathed, because it was more or less normal where she came from to be ready to fight at all time (because of something with wild-animal attacking, but that's another story).
If she said "that's too expensive ! give me a discount !" the average shopkeeper was going to assume she was menacing him.
Then we get t the haunted castle. We got separated. two of us got captured.
She encountered a ghost, and did'nt realise in-character that it was a ghost. After a series of unintentionally menacing sentences when she asked the ghost to help her find her friend, she eventually scared him, and a few others, prompting them to release us and let us leave the place.

This isn’t my story (or even a friend’s), but I remember hearing about Gronk - I think his name was Gronk - the orc rogue with the absurdly high Intimidate; Whenever he got spotted, he would yell “YOU DON’T SEE GRONK!” Worked nearly every time.

Why the intimidation check? What else would he have rolled?
