We all had the task of creating a Weapon of Legacy for someone else at in the group. I chose the gruff, humorless, table jerk on purpose. His character was a fighter that just wanted to kill drow for no reason. So I made something perfectly grimdark for him - The Right Arm of Andante... a bladed exoskeleton that covers your arm and gives you access to spells that makes it so nothing can escape your encroaching wrath.
First ritual, you kill stuff with it. Second ritual, you vow to kill more and cut off your own arm to replace it with the weapon. It's the ultimate weapon for the determined killer.

Told you that reading those notes would have been useful.
You can get away with a lot of shit if it's an IC reason.

So that's why it can be wielded in the mouth so effectively...

Anyone have any stories of equipment with a backstory more interesting than that of the character using it?

Why would you not want it? You don't have to cut off *both* arms or anything.
