The way I remember it, L was raised by a standard-issue eccentric billionaire in his standard-issue private genius school to be a genius crimefighter, just like M and N, except L was a lot better at it.

That's not what I'd call tragic, but I suppose Bonnie's variant might be a little different.

Excellent taste, no one has done a better batman since. Nice balance of fearsome protector, vengeance driven vigilante and actual feeling human being. did she write the villains too?
