Zoro is probably one of the highest-Wisdom members of the crew, as written in the original series. He doesn't show it often, but especially around Water 7/Enies Lobby he's a sort of secondary "moral" center when it comes to the group's conduct.
Same reason why Luffy probably has a fairly good Wisdom, if you ask me. In fact, if GL3.5 eventually writes him as picking up some kind of feat that lets him occasionally make social interactions using Wisdom and insight rather than Diplomacy, I wouldn't be surprised.
Intelligence and wisdom are two totally different things.
For example, say you got someone like Zoro. He's a swordsman. Not only that, he's probably one of the greatest swordsman in the series save a few characters. He knows everything there is about fighting, all gained from years of training and countless fights against all different kinds of people and creatures. In that case, he has a lot of wisdom when it comes to fighting
But you wouldn't expect him to know much about math or be able to treat wounds. That's more up Choppers alley, because he's intelligent enough to know medicine.
There's a saying: "Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit, but wisdom is knowing that tomatos don't go into fruit salads."
Actually, I think I have it. He probably has something similar to the Monk Unarmored AC bonus, using his Wisdom modifier as the keying ability score. It's a defensive bonus, for duels.
This page is very clever. Even in d and d form, you've managed to capture the badass buildup to Zoro's fight and ultimate victory, and made it seem completely plausible in d and d form. Is a badass bandana an actual item in the game though, or was that made up for the sake of this scene?
"Badass Bandana" is the name of an item from the game Munchkin. I can't think of any items that give a bonus to ability scores other than enhancement for wearable items, inherent for tomes which are read and permanently alter the user, or untyped for certain flesh grafts, though. This bandana would have to have a different bonus type than the earring - a very powerful effect, as normally one would not be able to stack their bonuses so high. It was presumably introduced in one of this campaign's new sourcebooks with fishmen and stuff - probably a cursed item intended to trap the unwary, but which Cory decided had sufficient benefits and a low enough price to warrant the drawbacks.

As this bonus stacks with the spell effects it would have to a bonus other than enhancement. You are correct that it could be written down as a untyped bonus, or as an inherent bonus. It could also be a luck bonus, morale bonus, circumstantial bonus, competence bonus, insight bonus, profane bonus, or sacred modifier. Seeing as they are using all kinds of splat books some bonuses can exist with these modifiers even when traditionally we would not use them for said bonus.
Holy cow, that is brilliant. Anyone who has watched/read One Piece knows that once the bandanna goes on, the fight is as good as over. It's also a fact that Zoro never seems to finish a major fight with less then, like, 6 life-threatening injuries. This is a fantastic way to justify all that in RPG terms.
You know... I'm just WAITING for Zoro to realize he can try using his Intimidate checks on Curses. I mean, isn't that exactly what happened in the anime when he was in the weapon store getting his replacement katanas before traveling to the Grand Line...?

And then one of the extra curses is that people keep pulling the "But wait! There's more!" thing in everyday life.

And Dexterity is being able to throw or dodge a tomato.
And Strength is being able to force-feed someone the tomato fruit salad.
And Constitution is being able to eat all of the tomato fruit salad without being sickened.
I think we're done here.
