"Tell a Story: Tragic Food Runs"

I've been wanting to do a food topic for a while.

Everyone needs to eat. Especially when you are holed up with other people for hours at a time arguing about stat allocation and saving rolls. Food really evens tempers. It's a true part of gaming.

But sometimes the food doesn't go as planned.

Share a story about when the food for a session just went south somehow.

("I'll back you back later."?)

Trying to get a bite to eat before or after a game has always been a thing for my group.

we tend to eat for a while and get really off topic. only a few times have we eaten while gaming that didn't involve take out (book keeping and talking has never been more fun when trying to remember diplomacy and intimidate scores and rolling dice, in public no less)
{to say nothing of the times we PLAYED WHOLE SESSIONS in IHOP}

I usually make food for my groups. Chili, pizza peppers, burgers, hell, if you ask for something for a special diet, I can oblige.

...you are the ideal D&D teammate.
You create crazy fun stories, *and* you make food on request? So jealous of everyone you've ever gamed with.

I'm not a short order cook, though. Game time is valuable. Ask ahead of time. If you have dietary restrictions, I'll work around them. Allergies? Yeah, i can make things without peanuts. Vegan? Yeah, I can make you something delicious. On a diet? Let me know. I'll make something you can enjoy.

Do not wait until the game has started. If you try to guilt me into throwing out my ten hour chili because you are vegan, we're going to have a problem. Jewish? Yeah, I can make recipes kosher. I cannot make the ham magically vanish from the casserole. Have a request? Never hurts to ask. Who knows, I might just be able to make it.

Also, that's jealousy of about thirty people so far. About four of whom I have had serious personal issues with. One was the crazy hippie flower child, one was a caricature of those angry manhating types, one got drunk and constantly dragged the game down, and one we threw out because she was crazy.

TLDR; Don't be an unreasonable jackass, and we'll get along.

Not sure if you'd like the challenge of cooking stuff that some of my game crew could have.

Collectively the allergies were:

Corn, cane, wheat, coconut, all stone fruits, , soy, beef, pork, cow's milk, sheeps milk, shellfish (exception being abalone oddly enough), most sea fish, ethyl alcohol, citrus, avacados, and olives... I also think one of them was also allegic enough to thistles to the point where artichokes were a no go too.

... Chili, spinach lasagna, brownies, vegetable soup, deluxe garden salad, deviled egg salad, stuffed peppers, wontons, stewed shrooms, fried mealworms with a spicy pineapple sauce...

That's off the top of my head. I think I could handle it.

Pineapple too. That was one of the things on the list I forgot. Also apples for some weird reason.

Regardless that all sounds good (except the mealworms, did that in survival training, the memories those bring up are not the kind that make me hungry...)

So inform you ahead of time what things I don't eat so you can work around it in prep, and don't be a jerk in game?

I can handle both of those easy.
