Whenever Rika starts going off on one of those speed talking things I end up thinking, "And remember, if it doesn't say Micro Machines then it's not the real thing."

a Klabautermann is the spirit of a ship, during skypea and water 7 the Merry was shown to have a "spirit" so to say. Rika is going to play the ship.

The klaubauterman was the spirit of the going merry, if I remember right. It was the thing that repaired the ship on sky island.

"Tell a Story: You're playing a what?"

Some gamers are completely original, and so are their characters. Some players THINK they are completely original and play something completely insane.

Tell a story about the character that left you speechless in "what?" when you met them.

The bipolar assbot got a pretty big what from people. The lawful neutral drider caught people off guard. The chef who killed a T-Rex at level 3 was pretty awesome. I dunno, though. I think they're used to me now.

He's just a law abiding citizen with a hobby of sewing buttons into peoples skin. Has an elfy girlfriend who enjoys it, and all her clothes are button on. He's a bit scary and strange, but that does not make him bad.

DM ruled I couldn't make him good, though. And lawful? Well, he respects the safeword, after all. He works as a tailor, pays his taxes, and wears his butt secretions, just like any other law abiding citizen.

I got a pretty big WTF during one campaign where I played as a Thri-Kreen with a huge bust.
For those who don't know, a Thri-Kreen is an anthropomorphic mantis creature that's native to the world of Dark Sun.

Once, i played a beautiful wild elf girl who was a barbarian whose diet treated non-elven humanoids no different than a cow or a fish.

The group's reaction when I...uh...disposed of bandit corpses in the first encounter was very interesting.

I mean, a beautiful elven lady who goes to a murderous trance and cleaves people in half with a curveblade is enough for a strong "WTF", but when she proceeds to eat their corpses, yeah...priceless reactions. Fortunately the other 2 player characters were almost equally weird so they didn't have much trouble accepting my diet.

Some day it would be fun to drop characters into what appears to be a D&D-style setting, and slowly reveal that it's actually Dwarf Fortress.

I'm currently playing a halfling dominatrix. female halfling fighter, Lawful Evil, dual wields whips and wears red leather armor.
Certainly more mundane than some other examples I suppose, but I did manage to get a "What did you just say to me" from my DM when my initiative came around and I said "I attack him with my two whips"

Not so much the way the character was, but...

I was in the middle of a campaign, and wanted to replace my bard (which I was already realising was pretty much useless in the setting). So... I made an Illithid character to replace it, with the intent that it would eat the brain of my bard, and then take the bard's place.

Illithid shows up. My bard is across the street, climbing a rope to the second story of a house (out in the countryside, not in a city). Illithid crosses the road.

The player who had missed all the sessions up to that point since I had joined (so... like, one or two sessions, admittedly), his character spots mine. And his character happens to have had experiences with Illithids in the past. He commands the demon-spider-golem thing (I think it might be called a Retriever?) to attack the Illithid. The Retriever "randomly" chooses to use a petrifying beam. Illithid becomes a statue.

To sum up: I created a character, who literally appeared, crossed the road, and got turned into a statue. I was like "what" - and so was the other guy; it hadn't been obvious to him that it was my character showing up, and not just a monster encounter. *sigh*

First time I read rika's speed talk I thought she said she was playing Nico Robin and I got so confused cause I thought that would be em and rika would be chopper. Then I read the rest of the page read it again and now I'm even more suprised! Definitely didn't see this coming good on ya

I honestly think that DM is going to play Robin, she was going to be a very interesting bad guy, but Luke ends up convincing her to continue to play Robin on their side. Since Robin ends up way OPed, she ends up delegated to getting rid of peons. I also thought, though that Rika would be Chopper, since her personality matches well. Granted, she may decide the Klauwhatever is boring, and switch to a new character in time.

Technically Franky is introduced shortly before we find out that Merry is dying. Brook is the one that gets introduced after Merry's death.

Honestly though, since I doubt a klabautermann will really be able to do much off the ship, I'm expecting Rika to create Chopper so that she's able to participate more.
