So, just out of curiosity, if I were to start up a "Let's Play", how many of you would want to check it out? :p

I'd be interested, but I doubt I'd actually make time to watch. I haven't even been keeping up with Fallout is Dragons, and now that I'm GMing some kind of unholy hybrid of the assorted Warhammer 40,000 RPGs my free time is mostly alotted to attempting to figure out what the hell I'm doing.

"An Idea"

Perhaps you could play an open world RPG like Fallout 3 or something, and stick to a character for the entire duration instead of an optimized build. Of course if its an older game like Fallout 3 I suggest you mod its balls off so there's new things to see.

That would be a bad idea. You would OD on Rax very quickly. I have a tendency to just sorta ramble on and on in full schizo mode until I come across something like a boss or a tough enemy, then I verbally freak the hell out.

Then again, maybe it's just a habit that comes of playing Dark Souls for the past week.

It should be an intensely storydriven game for me to watch. (like the last of us or the one with the chick and the spirit thing that's being told out of order, except not those two, I already watched them) And then remember not to talk over the dialogue too much.

Depends on the quality, and the type of LP. I would at least watch the first video to see if it has merit though. I have pretty low standards of quality for a new LPer.

Well, I watch all of Newspud's LPs, so I'd probably watch yours too as long as you don't turn out to have a grating voice.
Do be warned, though; It'd reveal more about you than the comics are ever going to. Not that most people seem to care *shrug* Just don't expect to be 'mysterious' after a decent-length LP.

"Re; Let's Plays"

Regarding a Let's Play, I'm going to say, "Probably not," but that's no slight against you. I've watched Let's Plays before, and heck, it was through Yogscast's Minecraft videos (specifically, the one on an MLP Minecraft mod) that lead me to discover horse-based wonderment. Let's plays can be entertaining sometimes, but the truth is that there's too dang many of them, and they're too dang long, and I just don't have enough free time.

Which, if you just want to do it for fun, there's not really a problem with that. I've thought of doing LP's myself, as I know there are people who would enjoy it. But if you wanted to turn it into a career like, say, PewDiePie, then you would need to take some care. Game Theory did a video on this. The short version is, though, that I'd be more inclined to watch an LP if the videos were shorter and less frequent.

With this in mind, it's important to consider what type of LP you're doing. An LP focused on the game (say, for example, Markiplier) will require uploading unedited footage, as people are watching specifically for the game, and less for the commentary. An LP more focused on the commentator (such as Two Best Friends Play), the game is less important than the commentary, and thus the video can be edited down to be much shorter (and therefore more accessible). Understanding which type of LP you're doing will help you get more views.

But hey, that's just a theory.

EDIT: Forgot to mention; if you're not confident in your ability to produce entertaining commentary, then a good idea might be to get a couple other people to commentate with you, a la Two Best Friends Play. I'm not the most talkative person, so I would likely struggle to produce any commentary at all on my own, but having other people gives you someone to bounce dialogue off of.

I would probably watch a Dragon Trainer LP, but it would depend on the game. One that I think is the best game I've ever played in my life is a Sci-Fi browser MMO (well, kind of massive, the player-base is a bit small right now, and I'm hoping it'll grow, which is why I'm even mentioning it) called Pardus. It's probably not the best game to do an LP of, as it takes a lot of patience, and it only allows you to do a certain amount of stuff, by restricting players with an Action Point system, that I actually love because it allows players with less time to stay on a level playing field with people who can play 24/7. It is Free to Play, and there is a Premium membership option, but that's actually well balanced as well, Premium players don't really get an advantage over non-paying players, which keeps it from being Pay to Win. Now I'm just rambling. Anyways, even if you don't do an LP of it, I hope other people reading this will check it out, and if they like it recommend it to others, as I'd love to see it's player-base grow.

I'd check out an LP. SHould probably post a link somewhere on here though so I know where to find it. :P

That being said, if you've never LP'd before, there's more to it than you might expect: fiddling with the recording software, editing, and so on. I don't mean to dissuade you; just be prepared. As long as you have fun with it, you should be fine.
