I hate to do this again, but due to work reasons, Wednesday's comic will be delayed. Normal updates will resume (hopefully) on Friday, December 5th. Sorry. >_>

Looks like all those flashbacks are giving Luffy shell shock. He's got a heck of a thousand yard stare going there.

Closet thing to 1000 yard stare in my games are intense hatred for when we derail the GM plot.

"plot"

that is why my dm uses multiple choice, both locations we had for plot hooks had portals to other planes but we only knew that about one of them.

"When Everything is Rails, Nothing Is"

That still leaves a small risk of players ignoring BOTH plot hooks. I like open-world campaigns; I stick quests, dungeons, and towns anywhere and everywhere and drop the PCs' leashes. Not that ignoring plotlines lacks consequences... <evil GM laugh>

"The last time we derailed the plot...."

we ended up breaking time and as punishment we had to watch over the unofficial lovechild of Kayden Kalien and the Lady o Pain.

......Yes it was as bizzare as you might think.

Don't worry about it. As those of us who read The Legendary Pixel Crew know, you've had more then enough trouble recently.

Perhaps DragonTrainer should schedule in a break so that he can build up a buffer for the strip. That way when life gets in the way (and we all know it is going to) he doesn't have to suffer failing to post (and neither do we).

I mean, the strips regular enough and it isn't like I'm paying to read it, so no big deal. I'm just wondering if it would be DragonTrainer doing himself and us all a favor. :)

Don't forget that he recently had to spend a bunch of time dealing with a troll. And I have to say, it could be worse. His comics are not only always entertaining, but advance the plot. Off the top of my head, I can think of only a single webcomic that updates this often, and manages to be both funny and plot related every time

Funny thing is, when I first started up this webcomic, I actually had two months worth of buffer set up ahead of time. That buffer slowly dwindled down and now I can't churn out a bunch of pages at a time like I used to. :p

Anyways, thanks for the idea, Otaku, but I've already decided to use the upcoming holidays to build my buffer back up again without (hopefully) delaying any more updates.

anyone know how to login to the legendary pixel crew site? I'm logged into GL3.5 and ComicFury, but I cannot figure out how to login to that site.

@otaku
he's one of the few webcomic authors with consistent updates and rare breaks. Plus he always explains his breaks beforehand.

he has also mentioned that he ran out of a buffer before, so unless he mentions it again, I don't think he ran out. I recall several times when he accidentally released pages that were 15 comics ahead (all webcomic authors had it happen).

It's like I'm logged in to comicfury at all sites except that TLPC subsite.

wow, you respond fast, are you using a RSS or something?

http://i.imgur.com/Q5WUE3T.jpg

That's the picture. I just cut and pasted relevant parts on 1 screen.

Forced refresh, clearing cache or clearing cookies does nothing. It occurs on both firefox and Chrome too.

The weird thing is I can respond to any page that isn't from LTPC. But for that subsite it just treats me as if i wasn't logged in.

You can see who replied to your comments on the "Your updates" page on CF, that's how I respond so fast. :P

Thanks for the screenie. I'll put in some debug stuff to see what the problem is. I'll make another reply to your comment once that's done, asking you to try again. That way I can hopefully figure out the problem.

uh, oh duh, I just looked at the screenshot again. One of those windows is firefox and the other one is chrome. You are logged in on only one browser. That's the problem.

edit delete reply

DeltaRayEdge

4th Dec 2014, 3:56 AM

no i logged into both. It's the same problem across both browsers. Also note that the CF account page is chrome and the TLPC page is also chrome. So i was logged in on chrome at least.

i wouldn't make that kind of mistake if I knew what cookie and cache flushing is. If it were that simple I would have solved it ages ago.

I just happened to be testing on both browsers cos my firefox is a mess of plugins. I was seeing if a clean chrome would change it and obviously it didnt.

my guess is that somehow CF sometimes does the checks for guest comments disabled BEFORE the checks for account login. Thus it never checks if I'm logged in in the first place. But then I dunno how you guys got in.

"Found the Solution."

You have to activate your account via email to unlock some features including posting to guest-comments-disabled comics. Unfortunately CF never tells you this unless you bother to check under account settings. It won't show annoying banners like most other sites do.

CF and hotmail/outlook also apparently hate each other, as I cannot receive any CF emails there. They just don't appear, not even under junk. Gmail works so I used that.

i just assumed i activated my account ages ago.

@DeltaRayEdge

I know he's normally quite reliable. I was just inquiring/suggesting because to be honest, I didn't even know if he had a buffer. Running out of a buffer happens, but its useful.

Of course, if this is all technical issues where the strips are done but he just can't post them, again that would make no difference. Either way, I'll keep enjoying the strip.

The solution is simple. DT just needs a remote posting script. It's fun and easy to to. See, first, you're going to need a really smart computer nerd. They're not so hard to find. /b and reddit are prime hunting grounds. Once you have found where they like, you need two things. First, you need an axe, and second, you need a pallet(not a box, not a crate, a whole pallet) of cup ramen.

Now, offer to pay the nerd in cup ramen, as well as anime dvds. If that isn't enough, you can offer to maybe buy them a replica sword from their choice of shows or games.

If these extremely generous bribes do not work, you can threaten to cut off their internet connection. This is a highly effective means of control.

Once you have the nerd subdued, you can order him to create such a script, which will automatically update your comic, with a buffer! And with that, you're in business!

This has been a webcomic service announcement.
