"I couldn't think of what to put here"

I'm really glad I stumbled on this comic. This introduced me to the campaign comics in general. My path went from the Berserk characters page on tv tropes to guts to anti hero to 8bit theater to munchkin to this. Anyone else have a strange way to find a webcomic

"Story Time"

Story Time today is about strange ways to get from point A to point B, through Player logic, and not GM-Fiat (unless it's an amazing story, then it's okay), in honor of our new friend IsaOmega!

So I was playing i this campaign as a Lawful Evil Drow, who was disguised as a leper, and had the Charisma score to pull it off (none of the other players even knew what race I was, nor their characters). So her drive was to build a new financial/military power for herself in the human world after losing everything to Drowish politics.

The GM had drawn out a map of the local crossroads where a kid the party knew was being held in a gibbet with guards stationed. The GM had made a very nice map of the whole area, including a tavern and a graveyard. The party was interested in daving the kid, my character was not... until it was mentioned that the guards had done the imprisonment at the behest of a merchant and political house.

I instantly hijacked the party, convinced them to leave the kid behind to enter the city, make contact with the house, and start working on quickly doing favors to get into good enough graces with them to have the kid released from captivity, and continue on to ever so sneakily take some monetary and political power for myself. IT WAS PERFECT! Especailly since there was a second major house in town we could get into a war with!

Then the GM broke down after I was organizing the guys into teams to make contact with the house's best targets for introduction and said, "Damnnit, why don't you just attack the damn guards!!!"

The other players brought to my attention that the GM had probably spent a long time drawing out the map, and so we should probably humor him. But I really didn't want to. I was LAWFUL Evil, meaning that I don't pick a fight with rightful authority unless it's to MY benefit. I mean, c'mon!

But the GM was a friend, so I begrudgingly let him turn back time to let the party attack the guards and save the damn kid. I'm still a little bitter about it. And the crossroads was a mini-module that was not very interesting either.

Definitely not as interesting as infiltrating a political powerhouse and highjacking it to my own party's whims.

I sometimes find awesome new comics by chance, or because their names jump out at me. This was the case with Battlepug, Widdershins, and Paranatural.

EDIT: And Shadowbinders. Hoooly crap, is that an awesome comic. And Namesake. And the snowflame webcomic.

Thanks again for letting me know that comic existed.

Now the real question; why hasn't Snowflame been revived by DC yet?

That's more or less what TvTropes is for, in my experience. Found this in the Campaign Comics index.

"So. Many. Tabs."

I found it through Friendship is Dragons, to which I jumped from tvtropes after finding it in 3 or 4 articles there.
Never did finish DM of the Rings...
Huh, it seems Raxon and I read a lit of the same works. Why am I not surprised? (I will be surprised if you're not a Dr McNinja reader, though, dude.)

I have read it, yes. I need to catch up on it. Loved DMOTR, love Darths and Droids, as well as The Wotch, Grrl Power, Gunnerkrig Court, Freefall, Alien Dice, El Goonish Shive(Even though the last few pages were stupid, I enjoy his overall storylines), DMFA, and Tales of the Questor.

Oh my goodness, how I love the adventures of a vertically challenged raccoon guile hero with magical powers.

I used to really like Everyday Heroes, but I kinda lost interest around the time Carrie assaulted a guy while he was apologizing for saying something rude. And literally nobody saw anything wrong with this. What a shame, she was my favorite character up to that point.

The Wotch? Haven't checked in on that one in a while... Has it updated at all? EGS is great, but I agree, this arc hadn't been its best, but it's still better than some. Ever read City of Reality? That was a great comic, but I'd caught up and forgot about it until just recently.

Misfile is pretty good if you like pot smoking angels, gender vending and a realistic-ish look at its effects, fully-clothed lesbians, and a fair amount of car racing and High School drama from a guy-in-a-girl-body's perspective.

More saying all that as a bit of a warning, rather than a promotion, as I've had five people bitch at me for not telling them about one thing or another.

Love city of reality. I also really liked Emergency Exit, but then it went on hiatus, and it hasn't updated in years. I miss Eddie. I really, really reccomend Alien Dice. It's got a very interesting storytelling process. It has comic strips, with more elaborate writing underneath. And I am an active commenter there.

Anywhere you comment, I'll most likely follow. xD

I used to read Ctr+Alt+Del, but after a while its non-updating schedule got annoying, and I found more and more people online discrediting the artist for always using the same facial expression.

Soon after, I found AppleGeeks and MegaTokyo, one of which hasn't updated, and the other where the artist is kind of a douche. Haven't found many good comics recently, though Kiwi Blitz is pretty fun, Prequel is awesome, whenever it updates, and Manly Guys Doing Manly Things is probably the single greatest epic crossover comic I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
