dragon trainer, i must congratulate you. you have succeeded in making that speech just as bad ass as the original while making it seem like it was coming from someone put on the spot. its one of the reasons i LOVE this comic, you are able to keep the characters recognizable while making me believe they really are just people playing a d20 game. |

Never stop winning. Always be winning. Upgrading that flaw puts him on a totally different frequency. |

Kudos for working his original back story in there. Very well done, as usual. |

Not to ruin the mood...but we need to keep a running tally of how many times Zoro loses after making that declaration. |

im pretty sure zoro has never lost on screen after this right? (i assume he lost a lot during the time skip). he's ALWAYS defeated his enemy, so the worst you could say is a draw |

lets see.. He lost against number three, as luffy had to save him from a wax cake, unless falling into a trap doesn't count, looses the lighting god straight out, beaten in their first face off with CP9... was at the mercy of the light admiral and got beat by the tyrannt - twice. unless we only count death as failure, in which case he has hardly won at all. |

fair enough. but i dont think the spirit of what he said here has been soured. he hasnt lost to a swordsman |

Which is kinda the point. Luffy's biggest weakness is and always has been swords and swordsmen. He can overcome a lot through pure willpower or strength, but a mere needle has canonically stung him. Zoro is the one who will always be able to cover Luffy's weakness, like a good First Mate should. (Even if that's never been stated as his 'role.' |

The wax guy doesn't count because he was going to win... all he had to do was cut off his ankles. He got halfway before Luffy showed up to tag in :P |

By my life and honor as a swordsman I pledge that though I may fall into the abyss, though I may drown beneath the waves, though I may drinketh damnation eternal, never shall I abandon yee in thine hour of need. I pledge to you my LOYALTY UNDYING!!! |
