Happens fairly often in our campaigns, we have one guy who makes a habit of having his characters pulling off a combo so powerful they immediately are taken away to become the new super plot armor villian. He seems to like the fact that most of the disasters affecting the planet are caused by his ex-pc's.

Hey, Raxon, how come you haven't made an appearance over on FiD in a while? People have been asking after you in the comments.

FiD won't load very often for some reason.

I get that android "Aw snap!" message. Will return to FiD soon, once I get back home.

I'm going with Zoro attempting to let his character be killed so he can make a new one, he seems to be the type. And then, due to quirk of fate, he actually survives Mihawk's attack.

I figure they both end up being good sports about it, and so Mihawk spares Zoro because Emily isn't totally evil or anything. Mihawk probably becomes an NPC because Emily doesn't show up enough for him to be a party member. These folks DO have a wizard school campaign to get back to, after all.

Just to fan the flames of unrealistic and rampant speculation...

...how much can our esteemed author play around with the plot? Omitting a scene here or there, splicing in something that should come a lot later... could he make it appear that Zoro won? That they drew?

The most obvious expectation I had for what would happen has been completely undermined. Keeping in mind I keep putting off checking out the Harry Potter strip: I almost always archive binge when something isn't immediately rejected (saves me from getting the wrong idea and enjoying something for a few months until I get the right idea). Haven't had time or else felt like the binge, ergo I haven't done it.

So... the classic "You blew the math" or "You misinterpreted that rule" or "That received an errata" or "Expressly prohibited that for this campaign" WOULD have been my guess. Emily seems so precise I easily flip back and forth on that; maybe its just because the gamers I hung out with were mistake prone, but even the Rules Lawyers (not using that as an automatic pejorative) would occasionally miss something like what I just said.

Think of that guy that tells you how your preferred system is "broken"... and either lists of an intentional feature or badly mangles the rules, creating a false dilemma. I find those of us that love dissecting and analyzing the rules/mechanics of games (emphasis on the plural) are especially prone to those kinds of mistakes because we have so many rules floating around in our brains, it is easy to mix them up or at least assume that Game A would operate similar (if not identically) to Game B on the matter... meaning we missed the clause somewhere that expressly stated otherwise. XD

Because in order to use up that much space, Goku would either need to be GURPS, or possibly be a grappling character.

"I don't get it, but I know it was supposed to be a joke."

Okay, I know Raxon was making a funny except... I think he may have rolled poorly. Not a botch, cause I am sure that some people have enough modifiers that it was funny.

Ignoring that (thankfully) screen cap comics don't go frame by frame and can skip entire scenes as needed, yes Goku's fighting style is a mishmash of everything he's encountered and considered effective so he does indeed using grappling techniques, just not as often as everything else.

I am also waiting for a screen cap comic that uses GURPS, or something similar. I thought Darths & Droids has stated the system their characters use is a fictional mishmash of d20 and GURPS, but maybe I read wrong.

Oooh, given how prone to tangential discussion most GURPS players I know (which includes myself) are, that might actually make doing a web comic easier in a weird way.
