I wonder what made Luke ask the sous-chef to join his crew...
In the series I call it "Luffy-instinct" but why does he ask the waiter here and not the chef himself?
And also because Sanji is a sous-chef, like they say here. Like in the comic, he was the one giving out food for some reason or another, but he is a chef.
See, that's one of the things I actually liked about the 4kids version of Sanji! It makes complete sense for him to have a lolipop instead of a cig! He friggin' fights with his feet "so he doesn't get his hands that cook, dirty". Does that seem like the sort of guy who'd intentionally dull his own sense of taste?
*Sigh*

Call me crazy, but I kind of like the 4kidz dub. It manages to make things even more bizarre!

It really does ruin your taste buds. Sanji's just that awesome a chef.

Yeah, Sanji would have to be a pretty great chef to be able to taste his own food with his tobacco-dulled taste buds.

How does she see he's smoking?
Is it the miniature?

I would assume that the game master is giving descriptive language which is being represented with images.
At some point he probably said that he was smoking.
It's also an important part of Sanji's character design so it would have come up.

I hate 4kids as much as the next guy, but I give props to the lollipop. It's up there with DBZ's HFIL for clever censoring.

I keep googling for the fabled "special diplomacy die" but I can't find it, trying to get a hold of one for my sessions.

The lollipop could actually make sense, unlike the water guns.
