Out of comic buffer again. I have yet to miss an update because of that, though... but don't be surprised if there's no update next week. >_>

Their head chef is a badass, their sous-chef is GFR, and yet another chef is Elmer Fudd with a pierced tongue. With the sheer power here, I believe the only reason Mihawk will show up is because he's a partial owner.

It could be worse too. If you assume the crossovers are canon then Toriko and One Piece share the same continuity. Also Dragon Ball Z.

Why would you ever do that though? Monster.

The dragonballs exist in all these shows. It's how the devil fruits came to be. And the world in Toriko.

Toriko is actually Trunks' great, great, great grandson.

Well, I'd assume that the crossovers take place in a unique universe/setting where somehow all three stories intermesh. Franky and Kuma look a lot less impressive next to Android 17 and the Sunny is just silly compared to most of DB's super tech.

Anyway, just sharing my recent thought that One Piece is uniquely situated to be translated into DnD, thanks to the "battle/loot hungry, wandering do-gooder hobo" nature of its protagonists.

That's sort of what not being in the same continuity means.

Personally I don't think D&D is a good system for One Piece, as amusing of context it creates in webcomic form. I have a hard time thinking what WOULD be right though.

It's certainly WEIRD enough that Maid has merits, but there's enough high level strategy at times that it wouldn't make sense. One would assume Call of Cthulhu because of how crazy it is, but mostly it's the audience that's rolling the sanity checks.

Also Luffy would just punch out Cthulhu.

You'd basically need a custom system to handle it perfectly, because One Piece does things too differently from the norm (in particular, there's too much focus on the fruit-abilities and too little focus on standardized 'stats')
Even if you used something like FATE, you'd not be able to fully capture the power and utility of some of the powers.

If you can't be bothered to spend several years putting together a coherent system, you could try GURPS or Hero. They're both a bit hard to get used to, but they also both allow you to cobble together custom powers and then give them a point-stat.

Isn't there an entire system dedicated to recreating OP in a DND type of setting?
