I know your pain Cory... Some GMs need to pay better attention

Wasn't Gordon prone to over-preparing in previous arcs? Maybe something is going wrong behind the scenes we're not aware of yet.

Could be he's overprepared the models and maps, but skimmed over the fluff for the character.

Perhaps he didn't expect the party to actually get eaten, simply because he didn't think anybody would be foolish enough to try initiating combat with the whale, and end up getting swallowed.

Any time you throw anything at the party always prepare for all of the follwing.
1) They will try to kill it and fail.
2) They will try to kill it and succeed regardless of stat difference
3) They will make it their pet.
4) They will volunteer to become it's minions.
5) They will steal everything it owns and escape unseen.
6) They will steal everything it owns but get caught.
7) They will trick their previous theft victim into attacking it.

The party will still manage to blindside you 50% of the time even with these preparations but its a good starting point.

There was that time if GMed for one session, they had to fight a ghost, and did'nt plan that one of them would say "I try to eat it".
The plan was to aspire it so as to swallow it whole.
They had access to ways to physically touch ghosts and spirits and this point but who the hell try to swallow a ghost?
Coincidentally, it was the one who usually GMed for us.

Ah, good effort Cory.
He's trying so hard.
If this sort of thing keeps happening when he tries to RP for the rest of this arc, him just going off and mercing everybody at Whiskey Peak makes a lot of sense.

He tried so hard... and got so far... but in the end it didn't even matter.

This is an absolutely brilliant way of interpreting how awkward and weird Crocus was when introduced
