"What happened Last Session?"

Tell the story of a time when someone couldn't remember something that happened last Session, or even 5 minutes ago.

does it count when my characters backstory is them accidentally being so drunk that they cannot remember anything until they woke up at the start of the campaign?

it happened after we had to put a campaign that we where playing two time a week on hiatus for 4 month.
After getting back to it, we spent a session reminding each others of details about things that happened before.
"No you don't have a sword with you. You traded it for a axe last time."
"Preposterous! i have always fought with a sword. how exactly would i end up with a Axe?"
-You traded it, i tell you! the Axe was more valuable, you where drunk, and you fail to consider that you are better at sword-wielding than axe-wielding."
"Wait, wait, wait...You mean that i came Drunk to the last session? Why did the GM let me play like this?
"No, you imbecile, your character was drunk. In-game. Come one, it was only in May, how come your already forgot that?"

Not sure if I forgot, misunderstood, or if everyone else forgot, but I was quite inebriated during a Part Time Gods game relatively recently. I had been compelled by an npc to hand over the soul of another god, at the time I was panicking a bit out of game because I didn't want to hand it over, now at some point between me being told that I had failed to resist the compulsion and me actually handing over said god's soul I forgot I had no actual say in the matter and convinced both the gm and myself that I was just supposed to turn the god soul into something. And then we ended that session. Start of next session we get the last time on DBZ thing and I realize something doesn't sound quite right about that. I made the token effort to correct things, but everyone else remembered otherwise so maybe drunk me had things right and sober me didn't? I don't know, but what I do know is that I made that god into an Aegislash pokémon card and I ultimately didn't have to hand it over.

It is for this exact reason that I take notes of what happens every session. That, and so that I can whip out something that was said out context so we can all have a good laugh.

Every session. We'd never remember where we were or what we were doing, so every time we met we'd end up rolling up new characters and starting new quest. We never finished anything.

I have a case on not understanding something that was said several sessions ago rather than not remembering. A city was under attack and we'd found a heap of refugees hiding in a hidden town underneath the city. The guy in charge asked us to not tell anyone they were down there. I'd thought they meant not to tell the invaders about them. Turns out the main residents were outcasts and they didn't want the actual rulers of the city to know about them. The DM didn't make it clear enough.

This seems like a case of a player not knowing/understanding something that their character should absolutely have been aware of. What was the fallout?

Not much. After the city was reclaimed the new king ordered the outcasts to be given new homes in the city. A few of the local nobility members weren't happy but they weren't nice people so we didn't care.

Did any of these adventures actually happen in the campaign? Did we just miss them? Heck I don't even remember the filler arcs that these scenes happened in.

the clock tower things and Nami's kidnapping happened in the second movie, not a arc of the anime. the ocean navel happened in the first special episode.

as far as the comic go, the plyars did play thoses, but it happened offscreen, you did'nt happen to miss hundreds of pages without noticing. they just had a couple of session between the last one and the one they're having now.

Think of it this way. This is our lovely handsome not to mention DASHING author Dragontamer establishing the movie plots DID happen the campaign, without having to spend several month or weeks on them. It's for the best.
