"Tell a Story: Hit Me Again!"

Gamers can be gluttons for punishment. Player character even more so, either because of Flaws or the players are sadistic.

Share a story about a time your character took a hit they could have avoided, and instead of doing the smart thing and NOT getting hit again, went ahead and let it happen, or worse, sought it out. Double bonus if lust was involved in any way.

One time in a Star Wars campaign once let a Dark Side Berserker of some sort wail on him for a solid minute while the rest of the party just watched. My AC was so high that the poor guy could literally only damage me on a nat20, and the one hit that got through got almost entirely soaked by my DR.

I played a phalanx fighter who got sucked into a magical world when he was supposed to be going home to his family. And then when one of my party members went to buy a young man who would have to do everything he told him to do (five letter word rhymes with aftershave), I went along to help him pick out the best child there. He didn't get why I was invested in the process, but the DM did so it worked out.

Cut to 3 sessions later when there's a combat for no reason and another part of the fight is the kid attacking me because he wants to be free. Me, the soldier in the heavy armor. So I tell the DM I lower my AC to zero and help him hit me.

"See? You're a strong boy, I told you. That's why I want you with us. I can help you grow stronger. Please let me guide you."

Does taking a hit because our tank went for a smoke count?
We normally play GURPS, but that was a rare DnD game. We captured an enemy elf general and he agreed to share his funds with us, giving us a location to his castle. Naturally, that screamed "it's a trap." Our munchkin multiclass disaster, that had the most hp in our group, refused to go, saying he got enough reward for catching the general already. So the party was a kitsune ninja and human sharpshooter, both very fragile girls.
So we entered the castle and noticed a lot of ghouls and zombies here. Being stealthy characters, we sneaked our way past them, but when we found the treasure, we were ambushed by a vampire.
Now, my normal playslyle would be doing a sneak attack and immediately hide to avoid being targeted. Even with vampire immune to crits, he had low chances to defeat me one on one. But our gunslinger was a much easier target. So, cursing our munchkin for not coming to one mission when he is actually needed, I decided to all-out attack the vampire, missed 2 attacks out of 3 (ridiculous AC) and was drained for my trouble. Good thing our human could do much more DPS, and she actually hit all the shots, finishing the bastard.
Of course, we took half of the treasure for ourselves. War or not, but I risked my hide and deserved a compensation!
