"Yep."

That last panel is so true. I can't recount how often my players made me react like that.

"I'll just give the bomb a solid whack. That should do the job."
"He looks evil. I shoot him."
"If he's a king, he must be rich, right? I try to pickpocket."

I agree with Nami here...guy deserved it wholeheartedly even if the GM was trying to wrap up without any more excess violence. But the creep deserves it, and she was owed some fair vengeance. Not justice, vengeance, as justice leads to self justification. Vengeance leads to working in extra xp really giving it to the guy.

Besides, pirates want vengeance, not justice. More specifically, they want what they want, so there doesn't even need to be the motive of vengeance, even for "nice" pirates.

""But he's a MARINE!""

One of my favorite scenes in One Piece has to be the one where the Straw Hats help out a group of civilians, and then Aokiji makes a bridge of ice across the ocean for the civilins to use. A little before he made that bridge, Luffy declared the civilians shouldn't trust him, because he's a marine...

...To which, after a moment of silence, he remembers that usually, it's PIRATES who are the bad guys, and he laughs as he sits down and lets Aokiji do his thing.

reminds me of when we got a new Player and tried to RP his character being introduced to the rest of the party.
The new guy was a Paladin, and it seems our Rouge hated them more IN character then we had thought. Seems he thought the new guy was there to arrest him, so he kicked him in the nuts- and rolled to do so. nat 20.
